The Miz has all the chips at the moment. He was able to goad Ziggler into putting his career on the line two weeks ago, and while he’ll be desperate to retain his belt, Dolph has so much more to lose. His career could very well end this weekend, and while WWE has a habit of swerving their way out of these situations, fans should expect Ziggler to say “goodbye” this weekend.
Recent chatter suggests that Dolph’s close to retirement, and wants to transition to a producer or road agent’s position so he can focus on his numerous outside interests. Even if that’s not the case, there’s little sense in taking the Intercontinental Championship away from Miz at this point. He should keep the belt, remain a constant thorn in Daniel Bryan’s side, and only fall when a suitable babyface challenger emerges.
That man is not Dolph Ziggler, who’ll either retire or head to Raw after No Mercy.
