Two marines took the American flag from protesters in Albuquerque when it was being dishonored by being flown upside down, or so they thought. Some are arguing that the protesters were simply echoing the idea that America was in distress. After all, this was amid a huge upheaval over what was perceived to be an innocent man shot by police. But there were certainly other people who were dishonoring the flag in offensive ways (so offensive we won’t show it — click to see it) and this could have been part of it.
It’s hard to know from the video, however I must say their intentions were admirable in that they were standing up for honoring the flag for which so many have died. And I really, really like that.
